All my rats are fed and handled every day. I have two large cages, one for the girls and one for the boys. I also have a spare cage used for introduicing new rats or as a nursery cage should I decide to breed any of my rats.
My rats are fed 3 different types of food. The first being their usual rat mix, with seeds, dried kitten food and dried fruit added. The second is cereals and oats. The last being fresh vegetables.
The rats treats include yogurt drops, bread, crackers, yogurt, cookied chicken, cooked moose, almonds, potato (not sweet).
Most of my rats have good temperments; there is more information on this on 'my rats' page.
Litter Information:
I won't usually have litters very often. I decide to breed rats on the basis if they have a good personality, are healthy and if I have room for any more rats. I don't breed for profit.
However if I have a litter available, I will post on the front page of this blog. Although here are some things to keep in mind:
- Cost per rat is 150kr. This is to help insure my rats aren't going to be snake food.
- Rats must be bought in pairs or larger. Rats are very social animals and need the company of other rats to give them happy long lives.
- If you already own pet rats, I will happily sell you one rat.
- I will provide you with much detail about the parents and genetics of the rats.
- If you are unable to care for the rat you adopted from me, I will take the rat back if you cannot re-home it yourself.
- It's pretty obvious but I will not sell rats to snake/reptile owners.
- You must be over 16 years old to buy a rat from me.
Hammocks and more...
I aim to start selling hand-made hammocks soon aimed for owners of rats. I will update with more information when this happens.
